We are pleased to offer a range of services to businesses in the Western Downs as part of the COVID-19 response and recovery.

We recognise the impacts of COVID-19 and associated restrictions are different for every business. We understand for some businesses the focus will be on recovery, and for others the focus will be on the opportunities that arise. 

Website Designer

We are pleased to announce the addition of a dedicated Website Designer, Stuart McGavin, to assist businesses in the Western Downs who have been affected by COVID-19 with creating or upgrading their website. Stuart's services are pro bono.

 

With over 20 years experience, Stuart has a genuine interest in helping Western Downs small businesses to recover from the shutdown. Business Navigator Western Downs is supported by Shell’s QGC business and has welcomed Stuart to the team as part their COVID 19 community response initiative.

Grant Writer

We are pleased to announce the addition of a dedicated Business Grant Writer, Louise Keating, to assist businesses in the Western Downs with grant applications. The Business Grant Writer will work with you to identify suitable funding opportunities available and assist in the development of your applications. 

Louise Keating joined the Western Downs Business Navigators team in 2020 as a Business Grants Writer. A Chinchilla resident for the past 9 years, Louise is ready to assist local small businesses to identify relevant business grant opportunities and apply for funding. Louise has a creative background and is focused on crafting written applications that will maximise the chance of success in securing funding. With a down to earth approach, Louise has a genuine interest in helping Western Downs small businesses to prosper. Business Navigator Western Downs is supported by Shell’s QGC business and has welcomed Louise to the team as part their COVID 19 community response initiative.

Ready to Reopen Grant Funding - Applications Closed 

We are pleased to offer the opportunity for businesses to apply for funding up to $5,000 to assist in reopening and rebuilding as restrictions continue to ease. For some, this may include costs associated with observing new social distancing and health requirements. We have deliberately left the options open, allowing you to identify how the grant could help you the most.

Applications will be open from 8 June to 22 June 2020. Assessment will then occur and all applicants notified by email on Monday 6 July 2020.

 

Note: To ensure your project has the best chance of success, you should ensure any goods and services are sourced from other businesses in the Western Downs wherever possible. You do not need to submit your quotes with your application if you do not have them, but you will need to provide them if you are successful before you receive the grant funding.

 

Reinvigorate Grant Funding - Applications Closed

 

We are also pleased to offer the opportunity for tourism related businesses to apply for funding up to $5,000 to assist in creating a tour, program or experience which can be booked online. A guided tour, a regular foodie tasting, a country farm experience – the opportunities are endless. As the Western Downs looks to become a tourism attraction with natural beauty, thriving communities and ample things to do, this grant allows local businesses to add to the many offerings for visitors, now and into the future.

 

The grant will be open from 8 June to 28 June 2020.  Assessment will then occur and all applicants notified by email on Monday, 13 July 2020.
