Applications for the 2019 Business Navigator’s Pitch Challenge are coming up, and business owners and entrepreneurs are urged to submit their ideas.

The challenge is part of the Navigator Western Downs program, funded by Shell’s QGC Business social investment program .

Participants have an opportunity to showcase their business ideas and gain the support they need to turn them into reality.

All semi-finalists and finalists will have an opportunity to take part in online pitch training and will receive exclusive resources and one-on-one coaching to make their pitches even stronger.

Winners from each category will receive a cash prize.

The categories for the challenge are:

Best New Business Idea – for entrepreneurs with a new business idea or have been operating for less than one year

Best Growth Idea – for an existing business looking to expand through innovation

Best Young Entrepreneur – an innovative business at any stage owned by individual(s) aged 18-24 years.

(THE CHALLENGE)

The aim of this competition is to help realise the potential of entrepreneurs and innovators in the Western Downs and to celebrate their achievements.

The Business Navigator’s Pitch Challenge provides successful applicants with an opportunity to succinctly convey their business idea and its value to judges within a 3 minute pitch.

Finalists will have the chance to showcase their business ideas across the region and potentially win one of the cash prizes to assist in making their business dreams a reality.

Along the way, there are opportunities for training and support.

How does it work? Getting involved is as easy as…

1. Register

Registrations will be open later this year.


3. Semi-Finals

Your chance to pitch your business idea succinctly to 3 judges. The top 3 semi-finalists from each category will go through to the Finals.

2. Apply & Train

Fill in the online application form & receive online training. Applications are evaluated, with the top applicants invited to pitch at the Semi-finals

4. Finals

You will present your pitch to the expert judges during the day and then again at the evening showcasing event.

The competition is open for anyone aged 18 and over within the Western Downs with a bright or innovative business idea.
